Dr. Sarah Shook

Dr. Shook is a licensed psychologist who specializes in diagnosing and treating attention deficit disorders, anxiety, depression, and family relationship problems across the lifespan.
 
She takes a cognitive-behavioral approach, helping patients understand their difficulties and assisting them with developing healthier ways of thinking and behaving. Her methods are active, collaborative, and solution-focused.
 
Prior to opening her private practice, Dr. Shook was a Postdoctoral Fellow, and later, an Assistant Professor in the ADHD Program at Duke University Medical Center. 
 
Dr. Shook earned her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She trained in several area hospitals and clinics, including UNC Children’s Hospital, UNC Neurosciences Hospital, Wake Med Children’s Hospital, Chapel Hill TEACCH Center, and UNC Center for Development and Learning.
 
Prior to moving to North Carolina, Dr. Shook earned both her Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees in Psychology at West Virginia University in her hometown of Morgantown, WV.
